Reading Pictures
John Ericson

The Day of Special Interest to be held on Friday 26th February 2027 at The Warwickshire Country Club will be given by John Ericson on the topic “Reading Pictures”.

We will begin with the usual welcome coffee or tea on arrival. Lunch will include wine or soft drinks, followed by tea or coffee.

The Day will follow the usual format of three lectures, with a two-course lunch after the second lecture. The morning sessions will comprise two lectures.

The first lecture, “Are You Visually Literate?”, will use carefully chosen paintings to demonstrate how easily we can be deceived by what we think we see.

The second lecture, “The Art of Illusion”, will explore how an illusion can be described as a message to the brain which, in common sense terms, does not make sense.

After a two-course lunch, the afternoon session will continue with the third lecture, “The World of Colour”, which will consider the importance of light, an object and our visual system in enabling us to see colour.

The price is to be confirmed at a later date. Tickets can be requested by emailing:
